Completely Legal — No WOF or Rego Required

Selling a vehicle without a current WOF or registration in New Zealand is completely legal. The only requirement is correct ownership transfer via the NZTA MR13 form — which we complete on site at every Hamilton collection, at no charge to you.

Zero Impact on Our Offer

We assess your vehicle based on make, model, year, condition, and current market demand — not its compliance status. A 2014 Toyota Corolla with a lapsed WOF is worth exactly the same to us as one with a current WOF. Compliance documents are irrelevant to our assessment.

Unused Registration Refund

If your vehicle has current registration at the time of sale, you may be entitled to a refund of unused registration from NZTA. We advise on this at every collection. Refunds are processed by NZTA within 2–4 weeks.

What We Accept

  • Vehicles with expired WOF — any period, including years-expired
  • Vehicles with expired or cancelled registration
  • Insurance write-offs — any category
  • Inherited or gifted vehicles (with proof of ownership)
  • Vehicles with outstanding fines (fines remain your responsibility)
